What is the difference between these 3 water coolers? Is water cooling viable?

If I had to do watercooling, would only be Corsair. Thermalcrap mustn't come near my pc.

I dont know about the thermal take one, but the 2 corsair ones is only different in the noise level they produce. As the name say for the h55, its got a quiet fan that blow/sucks air but it also means you have a slight performance decrease as opposed to the h60 (we're talking 1-3 degree difference).

I use the h55 to cool my radeon 7950 video card and it dropped it down from 80C to about 57C on full load.

PS if you are worried about spilling water, then closed-loop (the 3 you listed) is your best bet, they only leak if you puncture the tubing or damage the radiator somehow.

Cool thank you!

So you installed the H55 on your GPU, I didn't know that was possible. Was it difficult? How is water cooling with dust?

i use the h55 its not bad :)
keep cpu cool under load

i dont know about the other brand but corsair good with watercooling

and buy new fans ,dont use the stock ones that comes with it
get something like the corsair sp 120

i got 2x sp120's on my H55 runs nice and quite
tho its not really needed for 2 on that thin rad

http://www.wootware.co.za/corsair-co-9050005-ww-sp120-quiet-1450rpm-case-fan.html normal

also for the gpu,its a custom made bracket that fits on the gpu :)
dont know where to get one tho

Any reason you are wanting to use Water cooling? (legitimate enquiry, not cheeky remark)
I see what you did there.

Heheh, honestly, because it looks cool, but I want maybe build a new PC next year, so I figure, if I have a water cooler now I can use it on that PC as well.

That's very cool (no pun intended), can you use the h55/60 on a GPU?

Those SP120s are expensive...

yes u can,but u just need the custom made bracket that fits the gpu :)

it is expensive but its made for static pressure and that is good for heat sinks / rads

u can use the stock ones till u get money and want to upgrade later on
wont make a huge diff but may cool it a lil more underload

that air cooler, well its better than stock

for air cooling

this fits nice price/performance

whats your price range for a cooler?
going to over clock or just want it to run cooler in general

Hmm, I don't know about any bracket, would it have come with the GPU? Or is it the current cooler on the GPU?

That cooler looks good, but it's pretty big, would it fit inside a Thermaltake Chaser A31 if I have a big GPU and a water cooler on the GPU? :S

Get that thermaltake. It has a bigger radiator than the corsairs and double the warranty.

yes,but

size vs fin Density

a big one can handle more coolent, spreading it out more making it cool better

but one with higher fin density are more effective in heat dissipation

so they both have there pros and cons

i am not a pc expert,just saying what i know :p

edit also u high end air cooler may be better than a "cheap" water cooler for the same price

but those high end coolers are big and heavy,
so space can be a problem and all that wight on the motherboard

As sybertiger mentioned, its a bracket that you need to order (or make) but people have been using zip-ties to the same effect.

Here is a link on how other people did it on the Radeon cards.
Here is a link to the bracket I got from the USA.
As you can see the H60 won't fit that bracket, which is why I opted for the h55.

i wont trust that zip ties
best to get one made for you
or maby u can use the bracket that come with it
and let them make a spacer for it to fit

i got the artic twinturbo II
that thing is a beast!
runs super quite and keeps it cool/cold :D

idl around 28*c case temp around 25*c
cant remember the load but its under 50*c
