Your post is confusing.

SO you need 2x ethernet and 2 x serial ports?

Or 1 ethernet and 2 serial?

Or 2 ethernet and 1 serial?

What exactly are you trying to do, what is this other device?

it's confusing cause i don't know myself what i need haha

so how i understand it is,there is a stinger system(electric fencing ) this device is attached to it which runs to a wlan that tells the further away system on a computer that the lines been cut or damaged.

Okay. Assuming the Stinger works on a single serial connection (which it should), you just need 1x ethernet - 1x serial.

Is there an enclosure you're trying to fit this into or something? Why a size restriction?

What size do you need?

yes seems its 1 serial and one rs output(ethernet as well)

quite tight that's why i'm looking for a simple device and not industrial that tends to be big sometimes

I asked you 2 questions. You haven't answered any of them.
NRS232-ETH1 Industrial

but cant find the one they sent me.this is the one i wanted.

size restriction is cause they want it neat ,so there is this small box where cables and converters go into.

Ok.

Per your post, you want an ethernet-serial converter. That's what I've given you, in 4 different flavours.

If you want an ethernet switch that also does serial, that's a different thing with a different budget. There are no additional ethernet ports on the back as it is just a converter, not a switch. But just plug the ethernet port into a switch and voila, problem solved.

And find someone who actually knows how to make off a RJ45 connector properly!

I am referring to the quality of the work done in making off that cable, not what it is used for ...

In my day, work like that would have only one outcome, a pair of side cutters features prominently in what will happen to such a cr@ppy connection.

What's wrong with that one? Does the same trick, other than needing 24V molex power and a DIN-Rail if you have one, for mounting. Is it too big or what?

Agreed it is bad. I simply meant, being only 4 wire, it's never going to look like a normal ethernet connection as only half of the pins are being used. But I agree, shoddy workmanship.

biggish yeah and the 9 pin at the back ,there is no plug for that, previous one had a rj45 plug going into it and rj45 plug for ethernet going out it seems

Oh I see. You could simply cut off the RS-485 plug, use a multi-meter to find which wire matches which pin, and then wire it up with an RJ-45 connection.

Alternatively you could use RS242-RJ45 Cable

EDIT: yes what you posted will work for converting the connections (from RJ-45 to RS-232) but it won't do the signal conversion, you will still need the Converter device.
