Still Bay, Western Cape. Off season. I grew up there, know the area and the people.

Basically anywhere in SA.... as long as it's out of season. Quiet and restful.
If it's during a busy holiday season, then I'd rather stay home as other people have said.

I go to JHB for holidays (Xmas). Shops are quiet and everything is open. Beats staying here in Cape Town where everything is packed and prices are hiked.

The West Coast, ignoring Langebaan. I really like Paternoster. Just a really down to earth place with the least possible distractions. It is big enough to be within reach to acquire the basics and small enough to have a break.

Tsitsikamma. Peace, green and quiet. The best place in SA to shake anxiety and depression.

Have you been to Citrusdal?

Cederberg valley, yes. Farm'ish. Good place, but I more visited the neighbouring places, Porterville and Piketberg. It is the route I travel to Calvinia through Clanwilliam.
