1) Ford Focus Ambient 1.6 2007
2) 60 - 140km/h
3) Moderate to aggressive
4) 10l per 100km (450km per tank, 45 litre tank)

The best I ever got with my car was 600km on a tank, driving 110km/h from Oudtshoorn to Cape Town
My next car will definitely be a Polo 1.9 Diesel.

This is what I'm getting on my 323i 2.5l 6cyl.

Yea, the website says 7.7l per 100km.
Ill never trust online stats again.
The problem is, the body is heavy, and a 1.6 engine just doesnt cut it.
Why else do you think the new 09 models start from 1.8 engines.

Whats the fuel consumption like on the i20?

1) Car: bmw 328i
2) What is your average speed? [Not too sure how to work this out ] Did not check
3) How would you describe your driving style? With family-relaxed:(, Otherwise redlining:D
4) What is your fuel economy? just under 10L/100km, checked it yesterday. thats an average of driving in urban areas. On long distance I get about 8L/100km doing 120kmph-160kmph.

I have said this before....and it looks as if I will have to say it again...the duel gauge is probably the most inaccurate instrument on the car...it's based on toilet cistern technology, and hasn't been updated in the past 50 odd years...anyone who "relies" on a fuel gauge to calculate consumption is kidding themselves.

I'm so jealous. I also want to measure how many sword and gun fights I've been in, even if it is inaccurate.

Fazda. If i fill the tank, the fuel guage sez its full and the OBC sez I can cover a certain range. then when the tank is almost empty the fuel guage sez almost empty and the range is almost zero. so if i traveled 1000km on 100L of fuel i get 10L/100km. thats a good enuf estimate i think.

You misunderstand me.

What I was saying that people actually try and work out fuel consumption based on the position of the gauge, instead of doing correct calculations...once you know how far your car can get on X amount of fuel that is fine...just don't tell me that it does 10 l/100 by judging where your needle is pointing...
