What People Are Doing With Their High-End Cars In Dubai Seems Completely Insane

The United Arab Emirates is one of richest countries in the Middle East. Despite the recent financial crisis and the falling price of oil, the country's economy still remains strong. However, like any other modern country, the UAE has its fair share of problems. These problems range from the typical (poverty, high price of living) to the truly bizarre.

One of the UAE's bizarre problems, specifically in the city of Dubai, is the problem of high-end, luxury cars being frequently abandoned in local airports' parking lots. Why would someone abandon a perfectly good luxury car? The reason makes more sense than you would think...

This is a familiar sight when walking around the country's airport parking lots.

Oh my god, is that a Ferrari F40? What heartless bastard would abandon one? Why doesn't the municipality just seize these cars, order manufacturers to reset the keys and auction them off?

More money than brains club,

Also people buying a new range rover, when they run out of petrol,

And being a muslim country, its against sharia law to take someones possesions without their consent.

Cars are owned by the bank though, I think they have been cleaning up the abandoned cars, this is an old article

Read the article properly now,
Sharia law;

If your in debt, and cant pay you go to jail pure and simple,
No NCA or debtbusters there....

Really should make it easier to "abandon" your expensive car; like a special lot where you can drop off the keys....

They really should think more carefully about a system that makes professionals at the top of their game literally flee.

Didn't pitbull or rapid or someone here run into this exact issue like 5 years back? Recall something like that...

If i lived there and saw that, I would wash the Enzo everyday, just to show appreciation.

My friend..I have a job opening for you. Washing cars. And since not all of them will be Enzos I will generously throw in R5 a day pay to compensate for the inferior car quality. What do you say?

No. Proffessionals at the top of their game should think twice if their apartment rental requires 12 blank signed checks.

This article I usually read every year from a different source. Same cars in the picks.

An acquaintance of mine visited Dubai for a holiday about 5 years back. He told me about the supercars just left in the airport parking garage.

As soon as the expats find themselves in some trouble, they buy a ticket out of the country & leave everything behind.

About 6 or 7 years ago a forum member started a thread here on his experience in Dubai and how easy it was to get caught up in the high-life, how easy it is to obtain credit, & how to get out before you get locked up.
