Still when you know there are massive iceburgs in the area you should chill and ensure you make your journey. It's like people who jump red robots to get somewhere 2 minutes faster, many times they don't even get there.

It's quite interesting having a look at it:

http://www.titanic-titanic.com/warnings.shtml

1)The 1st msge, whether his course was changed or not i don't know but they were traveling to the sth of 42N at that longitude, not by alot but south of 42N by 20 mile

2) The 2nd msge, icebergs at 41.51N - this should have seen him alter course more south BUT ,"delivered to the Capt as he talked to Brian Ismay - Brian Ismay was the President of the White Star Line(Titanics Company) so possible he never read it properly.
He did ask for it back but not until 7.15pm

3) Bridge never saw it

4) Capt never saw it - officers should have informed him tho, possibly they thought they were south enough of that latitude.

5) Bridge never saw it

Both message #3 & #5 that the bridge never got report icebergs as far south as 41.25N & should have set off alarm bells as they we up at 41.43N.That meant reported icebergs another 20mile south of their intended course.
So yeah kind of a mixture of unfortunate oversights by various people.

Seems some years they have zero icebergs going south of Newfoundland and other years 300 odd.
Watched a decent documentary today on it - "The Unsinkable Titanic"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1343399/

Good watch for anyone that's interested that hasn't seen it
