What second hand car must I buy?

I am thinking of buying a second hand car later this year or early next year. I've been told that any Toyota model (especially a Toyota Tazz) would be a wise car choice to buy.

I'm a 23 year old male but I have no idea what I would do if a car stops or breaks down for example, so I am afraid of buying a socond hand car that will give me problems later on and on top of that I wouldn't know what to do or what to look for (in the engine or something) in order to fix the car.

My question is what second hand car would you advice me to purchase? A car that doesn't cost more than R60 000 would be an advantage.

Try find a Honda, their engines are bullet proof but for R60k it's going to be a battle finding a recent model...

Toyota will get my vote, they are cheap on parts, and fuel efficient.

Toyota is probably the cheapest to maintain...

But both Honda and Toyota are fairly bullet proof - I think Honda was rated better than BMW and Merc in some or other overall vehicle reliabilty comparision.

Does a Tazz come with fuel-injection?

No.

Don't buy it.

What amount can you afford on your budget?

He wants an affordable car, he's also moving out of his parents home soon, so will probably be looking for under 40k.

If he/she wants an affordable car, why would they buy a car with the worst fuel economy in it's class?

Been driving Honda cars for over 15 years. Comparing my total expenses on these comparing to my friends I'm extremely happy (or lucky).
