CPU 2nd only to the S800?? True if you are talking about the LTE version which has a S600.....but if you are talkin about the 'octa-core' version then it is 3rd :p with s600 being second...more or less the same in benchmarks compared to octa-core but is seems to be better in real life usage and battery life and at the end thats what is important. (not talking from personal experience, just what I gathered from reviews)

Was the Z on latest firmware?? That fixed screen issues

You're forgetting that the S600 in the GS4 had to be OC'd both its CPU/GPU were brought up to be equal to the Exynos 5 Octa, yet the S600 still gets beaten. As for batt life, I've see far more reviews say the Octa gets better battery, with only GSMarena and Engadget saying I9505 lasts a bit longer.

WRT the Z, yes it was running latest FW.

Sad much? LOL! Yes over saturated screen. I've used the phone and compared the 2 phones. Have you? If not then your measuring bar will be low, but I understand. It's the S4 after all. I've had to refer to the internet to confirm if the overly rich colours were just my keen eye, but alas, others share the same opinion.

Schyte battery life on the One? Really? Did you read that somewhere?

That LTE argument is just cognitive dissonance. And not everybody has adsl everytime.

Facts are facts. Enjoy your plastic gimmick.

Goodness me, talk about an immature response.

You've stated that you think the HTC One is a better phone and mentioned some reasons. I appreciate that as it's always great to hear different opinions. Some other people have stated that, despite all that, they enjoy their phones. That's a valid opinion too.

Don't act like a child now.

No offence, but you seem like the all Samsung sheep that bought it because they the ad while watching 7de laan and don't actually know anything about phones.

Actually you remind me of those "over excited" "people(actors) they have in the radio and TV ads. :D

I ditched my Nexus 4 to get it but I love my iPad mini still. Where does that leave your theory?

How is he acting like a child? The S4, like the S3, feels cheap and plasticky. It's just how it is.

Is it difficult to understand that we are enjoying our purchases? Fsck me, all I'm saying is I'd recommend it to anyone owing to my own experiences

And is it hard to understand that this is a comparison of products? Whether you enjoy it seems irrelevant to me because that is subjective.

Of course. But as I stated, I can only comment on one and relay my experience with it, but you are coming across like an expert who's tested them all extensively.

You haven't.

Geez this has turned into a fanboy thread......entertaining to read though lol

But seriously there is nothing worse than a narrow minded fanboy. Nothing wrong with liking a specific brand/product but dont be ridiculous about it. We all have our own preferences. To each his own.

I have to agree with this, especially when compared with other high-end Android devices- the Xperia Z, HTC One and even the Nexus 4. And this is from someone that has owned four iterations of the Samsung Galaxy.

That being said- I would recommend the HTC One over the S4, simply for its brilliant screen, beautiful construction and build quality, equally excellent hardware, and feature set. But if not the One, then the S4 is the go to device...

Good grief. I said I like my phone and now I'm a Samsung fanboy? Should I ditch my ipad now because I actually like that more than any other tablet?

I actually have a work colleague that owns the One. Brilliant device. Whenever I hold it I am amazed at the sleekness and build quality, not sure if I'd trade the durability of my Z for it though. I've dropped my Z on many tiles without a scratch.

Half my department has the S4 and it doesn't even come close when it comes to build quality.

I'm no expert. But I'm challenging each point brought up as a user. I've stressed a couple of pages ago in bold:
Thanks for that. Now do the same with low-light images and get back to me.

And also tell me you crop every image you take on your phone by 400%, then you might be making sense.

View attachment 64489

I've attached a picture I took with my HTC One above. Stone age my foot. Lab tests vs. everyday life pictures. Do your own tests before you judge.

And I've put across my findings. If that annoys you then I can't do anything about your emotions.

Edit: I've said nothing about the Xperia Z because I've never used it. I could have constructed an argument about it just by reading what's on the internet but I haven't.

I ask you again. Have you used the HTC One?

By not accepting that someone else may have a different opinion. Sure the S4 has a plastic finish. Does that warrant "Sad much? LOL!" and "Enjoy your plastic gimmick"?

He has posted his opinion, but refuses to allow others to do the same without insulting them.

Edit:

This is how a grown up puts his opinion across without resorting to a bad tone:

I love the Z. A bit big (was bigger than my Note 2), but a lovely device. I wish that Sony had added wireless charging to it though- having to open up the charging port kind of defeats the sleekness of its build coupled to the IP57 certification.

I hated the S3. Hideous, cheap to the touch, but fitted the hand well. S4 was an improvement, but still too plasticky for me.

The One is just a wow device- like the iPhone 5 was at launch.

He's defending his purchase and telling others you'd be nuts to take an s4 over a One. Meanwhile I'm enjoying my my purchase.

That was in direct response to the tone I perceived in Spizz's comment. Be that as it may, back to the phones

Guys let's not fight about what phone is better.. Bad idea anyway to ask people to recommend a phone as people have different tastes and needs. Best to go check phone or use from a friend.
On quality alone Htc would be best, but for me overall the S4 is the better one.

All this benchmark talk is also stupid as where and when will you ever use it.
S4 gives me all i need:
Battery life
Good camera
Screen very nice
32gig and sd slot
Accessories from any shop
Works on my TV, bluray player and speaker dock without any problems
Will get support and updates
