I have often wondered how some peoples car boots get into such a state. This is old and new cars. I buy and sell a lot so when people come to get something I usually get to see the boot which is either is a state and jam packed with junk and the spare tyre which has not been returned to its place. Some boots are like a tool box, some are storage with shoes, clothes sports equipment and some are just downright disgusting with dried out Mc D fries and old banana skins and a old foul smelling stain which I assume was yogurt or milk.
Even though my car is 22 years old, the boot is spotless and totally empty.

Empty besides the sub and possibly a warm top / jacket in winter.

I have an SUV, all tools etc has found a place either in the wheel well or in the spare wheel, neatly packed and out of the way..

As for the actual boot area, I have covered the floor with two of those stripe bags you use for rubble removal, to try and keep stains and dirt off of the boot floor.. when I clean the car, I make sure to remove the bags and vacuum the area and put the bags back after they have been wiped down as well..

Empty right now, except for three cardboard boxes that I use to keep my 5l water bottles upright in when they are full.

Last night however, it had a two-seater couch in. Amazing how much you can cram into a Hyundai i30's boot and back seat area:ROFL:

Geocaching bag
Tool/basics bag
Two empty crates so the shopping stays in place.
And usually one of the kids have left a toy behind somewhere

Mine - spotless, you could eat off of it. Which is why I leave a few McD fries there.
Wife's - bag of old clothes she's been meaning to drop off at the church for a month now, change of shoes, kids and hers tennis rackets, couple of those Woolies shopping bags, camping chair, and the box her new laptop came in. Car itself is clean, just, well, busy.

*Edit - There's some method to the madness; quite a few tennis lessons a week so we just leave the rackets there, soccer games weekends hence the camping char just in case. The rest, yeah, dunno.

Remnants of grass and Egyptian Geese poo which stick to the golf trolley wheels, else just a reusable shopping bag I never remember to take with me when shopping.
