What the R400,000 Mahindra Scorpio Adventure competes against in the SUV segment

The new Mahindra Scorpio Adventure is a compelling choice in the lower-priced SUV segment.

The only real competition, given that it's 4x4 might be the renault duster and Jimny. Neither of which is on the list here.

But instead we chose to compare the AWD Scorpio (with it's unarguable off-road pedigree) with 10 FWD SUVs.
I guess that they are making the point that the Scorpio is so versatile that it can compete with SUVs. Not so sure that it will compete on the highway though, the S in SUV stands for Sports. and the Scorpio is a bit of a slouch in that department with its rather agricultural (but proven) 2.2l oil-burner.
