What to do after 12 month intro offer expires ?

I had the 2 GB/month x 12 + speedstick intro offer, and have just come to the end ot the 12 months. I was pretty happy with the connection and service, but the question is what to do now. Cell C tells me that I can get a new SIM card with 2 x 12 GB of data for R1999; this is a bit more expensive that 8ta's intro offer, but at least I know that I have good signal in my area from Cell C.

Any other suggestions ?

What happens about the 1 month notice period that we are supposed to give? I am not going to go for the R1999 deal, and yours is the first info that I found regarding the upgrade.

Or does the contract just come to an end? Can I move to a voice contract instead as the new data prices don't cut it for me?

I found the relevant myBB article. The sim-only price is indeed R1999.

I don't know anything about a 1 month notice. I'm on prepaid though.

New prices are up on the website now
http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/page/data-products/prepaid
2GB/month upfront/sim only = R1999 ....Promo was R999
5Gb/month upfront/sim only = R4499 ....Promo was R1999

Be aware their new Contracts are now 24 month contracts, no longer 12 month

CellC if you think you are going to keep customers with those rates you might like to start FIXING things

I wasn't on a contract - this was the opening special R1499 cash upfront for 12 months of data, no contract. Once the 12 months is up it ends. I'm not particularly wanting to go for a contract, I quite like the 12 month cash in advance model because there's far less paperwork and no chance of them "accidentally" continuing to take your money for ever.

Note that there's a difference between the prices including a modem and SIM only; the myBB article has the correct info but as far as I can see, Cell C no longer advertise the rates without modem on their website. I assume they would rather sell you a new speedstick and get more of your money.

I'll be signing up for 8ta 10GB pm for R199 even though my CellC 2GB prepaid sim only expires in June 2012. Don't think the 8ta deal will be beaten and I spent more than R200 topping up on CellC last month anyway.

Hi All

The new Data vouchers are ready, we are just waiting release in to the stores.
Until then, alternative options which are available to customers at the moment:

1.Recharge with Cell C airtime and then convert/purchase a once-off data bundle
Data bundles are available in 100MB / 250MB / 500MB / 1.2GB and 3GB denominations
Bundles are valid for 30 days from date of activation
The “in bundle” rate per MB can be as low as 13cents (for the 3GB bundle)

2.Purchase a new “SIM only” prepaid promotion offer 24GB (R999) OR 60GB (R1999)
These offers are still available in most retail channels until 31 December 2011.

3.Visit their nearest Cell C store and purchase one of our NEW prepaid or contract Data offers

4.Call Cell C Direct o 084145 and order a new contract Data offer over the phone

Regards

Don't forget the best options available now:
1. 3GB data bundle R399 valid for entire 1 year.
2. Recharge reward R50 gives 500MB data free (extended to the end of the year).
And welcome extended prepaid 24GB/60GB promotion!

Hmmm... I'm not having any luck with this option... :(

Every Cell-C shop that I have phoned in the Cape doesn't have any prepaid 24GB or 60GB data sim cards available (only the 3GB / 1 year option). They don't even have them available at the new prices!

Has anyone found anything?

I'm in the same situation. My 5gb deal expires next month and I would really like to stay with cell-c. However, I would like to get onto the mythical 10gb deal, but I cannot find mention of it anywhere. Does it exist at all?

Ditto here. Have 2 one year old deals expiring, and am going to 8ta if I cannot source the R999 deal. Pm'd Cell_C, but no reply as yet.
If it's do-able, please let us know. If not..no problem but just say so.

Popped in CellC in Cavendish (Cape Town) on Monday to purchase one of the 20gig/month sims, and after some confused looks and conferring, was told that they were out of stock.

I call back today to see if stock has arrived, and after more conferring, I'm informed that this deal does not exist.

To be fair to them, the only mention I can find of it myself is in the archived news section on the CellC website. All seems rather dodgy.

Poor form.
