is it possible to keep the same number on my expiring 24gb data sim?
I want to buy another 24gb at the old rate but just want the data, can I transfer the data from that sim to my existing number?
reason I am asking is cause I use the sim in my phone and want to keep the same number.

Cell-C did good with the original offer
got some market share

PITY - that they're not intent on keeping it

looks like all the executive resignations go hand-in-hand with the poor new strategy

Cell C data renewal and long unresolved queries

Good Day fritzm

Please can you PM me your details.
Might be able to arrange one of the original data promos.

Regards
~AM~

Hi there,
I have had a query outstanding since February about poor connectivity which I had to relog in June. A Yagi antenna was meant to be installed but an indoor mobile base station was recommended instead. Nothing came of that. My ref is TT1404162.

Now my data bundle has expired on 30th November and yet it has been so bad that I had no connectivity at all in November and even blue screens when connecting the Huawei E1850 black 21.6mb modem. I used to get solid 5-6mb speeds then from Feb it has dropped to sub 2mb. And now lucky if I push 1.5mb local when it was working.

I would like to renew if the indoor base station works and is delivered but have been hit with having to use my cellphone and vodacom at R300 for 1.5mb. So in the last month I have paid R600 for the service cell c should have been providing.

How do I renew and how do I get the service that has been promised to me for so long?

Thanks,
Nathan

I got the 5gb per month contract for R299 per month in Jan this year. Does this mean it's going to stop working in Jan 2012? Or does it just run until I cancel?

You paid upfront for 12 month, so you only get 12 months. it'll stop working in Jan 2012.

Cell C you are very unfair on us. As a customer ive been happy with my 5GB contract. It expired and now u wanna chop my leg with these expensive prices.

Put urself in customers shoes. Trust me i'm definitely not gonna renew. You are too expensive and have to look for better options.

Regards,

Highly Disappointed Customer :-(

I was in the same boat last week. My 2Gb prepaid expired. Went to CellC and the best I could do was R2000 for the sim only deal. Walked to the Game right next door and bought (old stock) another R1500 white whoosh. The lady said they still have like 50 white whoosh sticks deals in stock. This was at Game Mimosa Mall Bloemfontein. It really is worth shopping around at different Games for a good deal.

Okay, I'm in the same boat and I have no idea what happens now going forward: I bought the 5GB/month Speed Stick bundle on contract (payment month-to-month) on 14 December 2010, which I now assume has expired. However, the Speed Stick still seems to be functioning as normal which concerns me as I wasn't consulted about a contract renewal.

Has my contract auto-renewed itself for another year? Or am I just being charged pre-paid top-up prices at the moment?

I just got exactly 2.5GB from my 2GB prepaid sim before they cut me off. Not sure if it's an error on CellC's side or whether they have increased the data allocation. I used up all the data in one session. Download speeds were around 600KB/s to 800KB/s.

I think you would be on month to month - maybe. My contract expired on the 30 November, and I went to the store to cancel and was told I need to send a letter to cancel. Having sent an email and a fax, on 29 December I could no longer connect, although I has about 900MB to go. The CellC website shows my SIM on prepaid easychat and I cannot access my invoices from when I was on contract.

I was hoping that the package R1000/2g would have been R99/month or even R150/month but I guess CellC cannot sustain the packages. I went to 8ta and even on month end I was able to finish my allocation, usually with CellC I would end up losing several 100MB as the speeds at month end was slow. 8ta was a deal with the devil, but what a deal!

I still have a lot of loyalty to CellC for shaking the market and benefiting SA consumers, but at the end of the day I found a offer I would be stupid to ignore.

According to the CPA they were supposed to contact you 20-30 days before your contract ended to see if you would like to continue the service.

Sad, but true. I have been getting speeds of 1Mb/s on 83dbm on CellC, peaking at 1.5Mb/s and 1.8Mb/s peaking on 2.4Mb/s at 97dbm on 8ta, with the same dongle in the same spot. And in the evenings between 6.40pm and 9.30pm I am not getting 6kb/s I used to get on CellC, but 900Kb/s and above.

I was not happy to go to the dark side, but the last two months I gave up 1.6GB because of poor connection with CellC at the times I wanted to use the internet. Previously I used up 90-95% of my data by the 26th just to be safe that I was able to use what I paid for.

Do you know if I can use the 8ta Sim in my wooosh stick or is it locked, my contract expired Dec top ups now are extremely expensive.
