What to do?

I ordered ADSL in May, and was told that a project was under place and would happen by the 23rd of August, ever since May I have been phoning to see what is happening. I phone now (24th of August) and have been told to wait till OCTOBER! I asked for customer care line and phoned, but there was an automated message saying they only operate during office hours.

What can I do? This is the biggest load of crap ever. When does the "30 day installation" that ICASA ruled come in to action? Surely there is something that someone can do

Complaining to Telkom is like speaking to your plants...nothing happens. I'm going to order my ADSL soon and have embraced myself for a LONG wait... Was going for iBurst to get away from Telkom, but they are to expensive right now.

Yeah, ok so I forgot about that old tale...Well that only means one thing. Plants are better than Telkom! Bwhahahahaha

Phoning telkom to get a status update is pointless. The people on 0800 456 786, 10219 and 0800 375 375 can just about do nothing. Until either a person from Telkom or one of the contractors call you, don't even bother.

If you do phone it just messes up your day at how useless they are. you get frustrated, angry and feel hopeless. If you ask to speak to a Manager, they can't do anything either. They just go Yes yes yes. three bags full sir. have a good day.

I just relocated and needed to order dsl again. I wasn't looking forward to it. Ordered on 5 July and installed on 18th Aug. They called me more times than I called them. I guess I got lucky. it did help that i was doing a transfer.

It still took way to long. More than 30 days. I'm going to order a line soon and I can tell you now, I'm NOT looking forward to it:(

I also stay in constantia.
I also applied in mid may.
I was told end june, then end August. Obviously that has now been shifted to end october.
WOOOOsshhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Anybody at telkom hear the deadline rush by?
Anyway the trend seems to be 2 monthly extentions. So end Dec should be the next deadline.

Swak one guys, Im in Fish Hoek, phoned in and after several return calls from them(they kept getting the address wrong), plus after calling the regional manager and 4 weeks of waiting, they arrived one Sunday. I spoke to the guy cos I know how u all feel(this ant me first DSL installation) and he said things are so messed up there, what he knows is completely different to what the operator knows which is completely different to what they have in their database. Sux but things are so screwed up there...
