What type of FTTH boundary wall box do you have?

Fibre trenching currently happening in my area with three FNO's. I won't name drop but one FNO is using the regular electrical single way round junction box as the fibre box mounted on the outside wall/ fence.

As far as I know, the weatherproof lockable type is the standard. I want to see what other areas have. If you can post a picture, that'd be great.

I have the same electrical round box as well. Im with Vuma Reach.

Manhole next to the driveway, openserve did it for all houses in my street.

Frogfoot pulled theirs into it as well.

Vumatel has a box in the ground on the front yard, normal box they put on a wall usually, already covered in dirt so not sure where it is.

I have the black box as well outside my yard

The Vumatel box is on which side of the boundary wall?

That is actually just conduit for the fibre line. It doesn't have to be waterproof as the fibre cable has quite a robust casing.

The waterproof slimboxes will be where splitters are located.
The question arises then, why in some areas, all dwellings have their own 'waterproof slimboxes'? (Assuming we're talking about the same thing)

It depends on the FNO and rollout.

MDU's for example have Slimboxes mounted on walls. Free standing homes have slimboxes trenched outside the dwellings and they aren't always waterproof. The waterproof manholes are at the street corners where the gpon splitters are located in free standing rollouts or in estates/complexes those can be wall mounted also.

Some rollouts trench from the slimbox to the property and others only do above ground installations with conduit. It really depends on the FNO.

I don't think the picture you supplied is a poor install quality. I actually think it looks pretty neat.

So in free standing houses, the non gpon split is happening in boxes that may not be waterproof?

I didn't say the install in picture was poorly quality.

It's possible. If you look at some of the slimboxes that are being used aren't really water proof at all.

Sorry I misread the original thread. Apologies.
