I have this brand new extremely useless TP-LINK TD-W8960N adsl router bought from game that drops connection all the time on my 20mb adsl line. I changed it for my netgear telkom router i got a long time ago, (DG834v3 if im correct). The tp link keeps dropping connection because its SNR keeps fluctuating and going below 6db. The netgear had a constant SNR but relatively low at 8db and it dropped connection once in a while. Now it reached the end of its life and I need a modem/router ASAP. Going to switch to VDSL and looking at the Asus DSL-AC52U. Should the switch to VDSL be good for the SNR and will this be a good modem to look at when considering my home to exchange length (more or less 1km from exchange)? I don't want to buy something too expensive so cheaper will also work. I connect my PC via ethernet and use the wifi around the house only for my mobile phone. I am also a gamer so that is also a thing to look at.
