My mother still has mine in one of her drawers I gave her yonks ago (pre 2000) b4 I left for UK somewhere,she kept it as a backup for texting until a few yrs ago until whatsapp made sms's redundant)

Took it out a few yrs ago and charged it up,inserted a sim and it actually worked :)
The battery died shortly after bootup though :D

+1 for the ericsson ga628 I recall being impressed that the colours could change, was with MTN, unboxed it chose a ringtone and hardly used the thing iirc.

First Android was HTC Wildfire S, so tiny in comparison to todays phones and also no hard buttons

Remember back then when the Motorola V360 was so popular. Everyone buying one and getting onto the Vodacom vlive apn to download free stuff or use the phone as a modem. Even the Samsung D500 with it's speaker. :laugh:

1996 - Motorola. Can't remember the model exactly, but looked like this
