I had a few hand me down phones before this one, but I remember buying this POS from a friend for about R50. Could receive and store one SMS at a time. Even my dad's car radio had a better display.
For me it wasn't about having a flashy phone, it was more about having your own number instead of your friends having to call your parent's landline

Was really upset when I found out it's text layout/wrapping was different, so the ASCII art that people used to send from one nokia to another didn't work on mine. Also typed really slowly but damn it was tiny.
