They have already upgrade all lines from 4Mbps to 10Mbps from the 1st of November.

Openserve will only start billing ISP's the 10Mbps price from 1 January 2019.

ISP's also got a free 10% increase on their current IPC bandwidth.

Does not seem fair that customers have to pay for an unrequested upgrade.
Let's hope that Vumatel & other providers continue to offer 4Mbps.

Hopefully Vumatel would get out of dark ages. 4Mbps is so adsl-esque. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to take it as a measure for fibre speeds.

You misunderstood what I was saying.
Telkom 4Mbps Fibre - R503.38 (capped)
Telkom 10Mbps Fibre - R705.13 (capped)
I'm just against being forced to pay R201.75 more.
If they want the minimum to be 10Mbps, that's OK by me, just charge the same as 4Mbps - R503.38.

I’m hoping Telkom forgets to change the billing

And what about the guys that's currently on 10meg? Should they continue more? What about the guys on a higher package - if you're getting a bump wouldn't it be fair if they got as well?

So no update to this article with any of the other ISP's contacted? I see Afrihost is the only one still offering 4mbps on their website and they have not migrated existing users to 10mbps either. And the pricing of 10mbps for all other providers is pretty much as it was before doing away with 4mbps which means clients pretty much forced to pay more even if they didnt want the upgrade, except for Coolideas which have a very competitive price for their 10mbps which is in line with previous 4mbps pricing.
