Playstation 3

Althought the psp is more compact the playstation 3 will offer more value for price.

1) Better graphics
2) Games might cost the same but do you really wat to play final fantasy on
a small screen like that?
3) Better sound quality.

Alot of people will go for the psp coz of its looks and other reasons

My personal choice(if i could ever afford it) would be a psp.

Cheers,

PSP (got one already) :)

If you don't have a l33t PC, or dvd player then go for the ps3 as it will be a sorta all in one machine. However the games will most probably be way expensive, and the ps3 will cost a small fortune.

Ok so it might cost a fortune bu its a good investment at the end of the day.

I would still go for the ps3 who wants to do anything on a small screen...

Dude where would you want to play psp...get yourself a playstation3...when you go out you go out to have fun not to play psp the whole day...trust me one of my friends has one...and yeah sure the first three weeks was fun...but after a while it just gets boring watching zidane score a goal with a ball lookin like a golf ball...

Or imagine watching angelina jolie on a small screen like that

Kinda redundant dont you think?!?

That's not really the point of the PSP. It is aimed at a totally different market to the PS3. The PS3 gives you the big ass games, beautiful graphics, wonderfull sound, etc, for consumption in your own home. The PSP is more aimed at the people who want to play games on the go. It is basically just a beefed up gameboy advance. Very nice toy, but there is no sane way you can realistically compare the PSP to the PS3, or even the PS2. They're just TOO different.

The intelligent question would be: "Do I go for a DS Lite or a Wii"

Tough decision. Just take both. Hmm... House payment or buy a new console? Tough decision.

When I go the bank on a busy day, when I have to go change my tyres, when I'm sitting waiting for a movie to start, when I'm on a long trip and not driving, etc.

Basically, I use it all the time..... to help pass the time. I love it when other people are getting frustrated by standing around waiting for something/someone, when all I do is pull out my PSP.

Also remember since it has wireless connectivity you can browse the web on a PSP. Posting in forums is kinda lame tho since you don't have a keyboard.

She looks good in Hackers, which I own for the PSP along with Lord of War. :)

I also convert all my TV series (SmallVille, Prison Break, Lost etc.) and Anime into PSP format. When I'm not near my PC I can still watch all my favourite shows. I'm only limited by the size of the memory card.

Around R8000 for the console and between R800-R1000 per game? You could get an Xbox 360 (which has the same grafix quality last time I checked) plus more then a couple of games for that price.

It doesn't have a usb port but can be plugged into a usb plug via a cable. The best way is to get a bigger memory card, 1Gig or bigger.

have a psp. After owning one it really pisses me off about sony's marketing tactics. Psp is too proprietary (so will the ps3 - example will be blu-ray). In SA games cost R450 for psp. That's a crapload of money for a game for a handheld. There's no other choice. I'm assuming PS3 is going to be the same. They have become too arrogant and have to change their mindsets about how they sell gaming consoles.

My choice still PSP...PS3 maybe in a year or two after the price has dropped and the problems with blu-ray has been sorted out.

thanks so far for the feedback guy's

yea that's also one of the things that pees me of .. the lack of the limited space you have to safe your multimedia on

why must there always be one thing that must be there and never is. IS it a market tactic for a later better version or what ? geez

Aspersie...get the XBOX360. Games are awesome and are strangely cheaper than psp games. when the HD-DVD upgrade comes, I'm sure it'll be an awesome platform. Wii will be great too...i'm very anti-sony now. Though i admit I own a lot of their products :(

Peeps round here know what I'm going to say . . . ;)

First you're comparing the wrong things, ask yourself what you want first. If it's a games console, it's one thing, if it's a mobile media player it's another.

First and foremost PS3 won't be available here till next year. Secondly it's going to be EXTREMELY expensive (numbes already posted). If it's a next gen games console you want, the 360 is available right now for a hell of a lot less. (for all intents and purposes they're effectively equal when it comes to performance) If you want something different, or more affordable, the Nintendo Wii is definitely worth investigating (Will pre-order mine as soon as possible)

If it's mobility you're looking for the PSP is in a difficult spot. While it does a lot, it's niche specific competitors are better at what they do. The DS is a more interesting and popular (outsells PSP 4:1 in Japan) games platform, and the iPod does media better. So it sits in an uncomfortable middle ground. If it fits your usage patterns great.

Personally, I'm in the DS/Wii360 camp (no comments from the peanut gallery ;)) The new sony stuff just doesn't excite me.

So i take it ur alone for most of the day.....because if someone was with u....they'd probably get p*ssed-off...its like going out with MXIT freaks...
