No, the negative was a circular round cartridge disc thing... it was a "conventional" film camera, in that you needed to develop the images. The disc cartridge was removed and handed in for processing... you would then get your pics and a negative disc for re-processing if need be. When the disc was full, you needed to just snap open the camera, remove, and insert the next.

i have not googled the specs yet but does it work with a battery and if so where does it go in?
