What's the point of having a Prestige Banker?

With FNB.

I call or email my private banker and she does everything. Eg. recently bought a car. Phoned her and emailed her the dealer name and contact details. Couple of days later Wesbank loan was approved, she dealt with the dealer on my behalf and with Wesbank. I got the contract via email and signed it electronically. Done, went to fetch the car. I am sure if I asked she would have arranged that as well. I am very happy. One of my previous private bankers drove out to my office when I needed to sign some papers, but that was about 7 years ago. I assume since electronic signatures they wont do that any more.

PS. Private banker is assigned to my account and linked on my internet banking. So I have had a few. Just sign on and see which one it is and contact whoever it is directly.

Phone the branch, asked to put throught the prestige line manager, they dont like to be disturbed, tell what you want done, and see how quickly your prestige banker will contact you. My colleague has always excellent response from his prestige banker, me not so good and we banked at the same branch.

Thats part and arcel the problem. You can only call a central branch contact centre, cant phone branch directly.

Hmmm... FNB will come and see you... the couriers for my smart device f.ed up the delivery arrangements so I got her to drop it off at my SOs office for me. Very handy.

Prestige banking offers you the treatment you deserve, for just R169 a month.

Holy cow! Capitec charges me something like R4.50 per month. Maybe R40 max when you count everything.

What do you know. She just read my e-mail, phoned me and gave me her direct number. So looks like the Prestige Call Centre have their facts wrong.

I've always sent an email to Standard bank to action something and I have a savings account *shrug*

After they tried to explain the benefits of prestige banking I told them that I'm thinking of leaving to FNB instead and they stopped trying to sell it

With FNB.
I can call or mail my personal banker any time during office hours on her direct line.
There is no additional charge to having a prestige banker.
Rarely see the inside of a bank, as everything is done for me.
She has also delivered documents to me for signature, and waited while I did it.

With FNB you do get direct contact with your private banker.
I am yet to see the benefit though and I am considering downgrading.

There is an additional charge - you need to have a platinum account or better. I downgraded to a Capitec standard account - I'm saving over R100 per month in bank charges.

Am on platinum, so I essentially pay R140 a month (bank charge) for a R1200 makro voucher (ebucks).....what a bargain!

How do you get R1200 per month in ebucks?

I get about R800 a month, but am on tier 5 so get 40% off makro voucher.

Simple, I use my cheque card to pay for everything, get 15% back from checkers and fuel, bought a nexus 7 from them a year or so ago. Essentially have had an account for 5 years, and played the system to get to tier 5. I only switched to platinum because the interest on savings pocket and ebucks benefits were better and so covered the cost

R1200 or eB1200? Because if you earn R1200 in eBucks a month you either know something I don't or you are spending a **** ton of money every month.

Have earned between R600 - R1100 (avg. R800) a month for close to a year now.....the earnings go up once you get to tier 5, like 2.5% of your card purchases, 15% of fuel, 15% of checkers....etc.

I see. Only on tier 3. Need to make an effort

To be honest with you, I didn't change my behaviour much except for no longer paying with cash..... Even an R18 cappuccino goes on my card. Also, I get cashback@till rather than ATM so i do have cash on me for emergency .

The premier banking suite that you call in to is far better than I have had even for banks in Uk or US. They follow up things properly and so prefer it to going to branch
