In my opinion. one should never pay more than R299 for a game - no game should surpass this price. Games that are older than 2(maybe 3) years should become 'Classics' and charge R99 (like EA Games does). Valve and Rituals 'Episodic' game releases should also be no more than R149.

I agree 100% ... I buy games from www.btgames.co.za or www.kalahari.net or even www.take2.co.za

I've almos completely given up on store bought games.

I use things like direct2drive, pay by CC and just D/L the game. This saves me about R100-R200 for most games.
(to pre-empt any B/W questions, it's on a 1mbs uncapped line)

what EA is doing is on their classics range is good ...

Spaceman is right ... the way things are going now, anything over 2 years should definitely be classified as a classic....

btw .. i was thinking of getting my son a PSP ... but when I checked out the prices of the games ... I changed my mind..... looks like they are going the route that gilette went with their razor blades :)

man i wish i could d/l those iso's .... but my means are limited .... i connect to internet using my gprs ... imagine the time and money it will cost me to d/l on dvd game :)

i am soooo jealous blobnow....

One thing that you have to rmember now that the ISPs provide BUSINESS uncapped for +-R1800 for a 512k line and +-R3300 for the 1024k line. These have static IPs and some business services.

There are guys out there who offer the uncapped services for about half or even a third of that but without all the added benefits.

Enquire at places like RsaWeb, Gamco, WebAfrica and SAOL and see what they have to offer.

and as far as PSP and PS2, well ... wives and kids are all the same. They nag you for yonks for a new toy, then once you get it, nada, it ends up in the cupboard. And I mentioned wives in there as it was the wife that wanted the PS2 so she could use the dance mat ;)

Oh yea, another thing i look out for :

Games with "improved" sequels should also be close to the bargain bin or at least
cheaper than the actual sequel. I'm talking specifically of games like FIFA 200x, NBA/NFL/Tiger Woods Golf / Unreal Tournament ... These games usually do not have a "story" or continuiety between sequels. I've seen alot of shops putting FIFA 2005 up for the same prices as FIFA 2006 . No one is going to buy the 2005 one for R299 ..

Not us at BTGames. Iv started noticing that several psp games are becoming platinum like ps2 games... Best games to get are Exclusive - they release the new titles pretty quickly for R99, its a givaway. If you need any Games or anything call me on 011 467 7780 ask for Greg (quote myadsl forum - lol), will sort u out. ;)
