Now I know we all have different durations. Luckily mine is only 2 hours. But the worst is probably 8pm - 10pm.

I have been chatting to co-workers and they reckon early evening around 6-8pm (I guess because they have kids still in school) cooking , homework etc.

I guess early mornings will also affect a lot of people, for me it's not a problem.

6-8:30pm for me. It's when everyone gets home and food is supposed to be served.
Only really been a problem since winter started due to there not being any light at about 5:40 in the house already.

6pm to 8.30 pm for reasons stated, particularly as its exam time.

Disruptive slot, rest I can work around.

Almost always get it 8-10:30 pm. I cannot stand it,i don't mind it on weekends through the day or early morning slots, i'm studying and do work at night so that is my productive hours, trying to start again at almost 11pm just doesn't work

8pm to 10:30 Monday through Thursday. Generator keeps the kids awake so it's lanterns and laptops.

grrrr,

are you refering to the wonderful 1800 - 2230 slot?!?
The one than can occur on either stage 1 or stage 2?!?

and sometimes, though not often, we can be hit by a stage earlier ending 1830, from 1400, and it rolls straight into the next(if stage numbers change during the day)!!!

1800 - 2030 is not too bad, can go to the pub for a bit or out for dinner after work.

18:00 - 20:30, djirrr, it's just so inconvenient. That's chill time before bed time, so I now often find myself falling asleep on the couch during that time and then come bed time, well, I am the master at counting sheep then.

And when you have it at stage 1, 6pm to 10:30pm, 3 days in a row...

We have only had the 16h00 to 18h30 evening slot. Its a schlep when they only announce loadshedding starting from 4pm. No time for the SO to prepare supper and when the lights goes back on, our little ones are sleeping. That last hour in the dark lets them fall asleep quickly. So sometimes they don't get any supper.

I would be fine with the 18h00 to 20h30 slot. Supper would be done, kids can go to bed early and I can catch up on some series from 20h30.

Anything from 18:00-22:30.

16:00-18:30 is a pain for traffic, although yesterday I managed to avoid it.

Used to have 18:00-20:00 slot which was awful as I get home at exactly 18:00 most days. Then had to sit for 2 hours and do nothing and can't eat. Since they changed the Durban schedule though I no longer get any evening slots

20:00-22:30 is okayish. Laptop battery lasts for about 3-4 hours and it is also a good excuse to get a good night's sleep.

1600 to 1830

Ditto.
Means hectic traffic on the way to pick up our son from crèche, we have to drive about double the distance (pick him up, then go back toward work to pick up our daughter from her gran then take back roads home so adds about an hour to our drive).
Then get home and start the generator for the remaining 20 minutes of blackout if it lasts the full time.

Yeah after 8 is fine - plenty time to make food and eat.
