When did you have the phone ?
Whatsapp was withdrawn from the windows store for a week or two to sort out some bugs.
It is now back in the store though.
Maybe you should have googled the issue before you returned the phone.

WhatsApp was taken off the Windows Phone app service due to a technical issue. It has since been restored and we were sent a memo regarding this by Vodacom.

Vodacom and its staff is not responsible for what apps are available in the respective application stores of the different operating systems.

So the OP didn't do her homework first before signing for a new phone?

So sorry to hear that. Nowadays you do your homework, dot the i's and cross the t's before you sign any contract.

Because two years is a long time to wait for another phone should you find out that your current selection cannot do what you want.

FIRSTLY YOU SHOULD HAVE RESEARCHED THE PHONE AND AVAILABLE APPS BEFORE PURCHASING IT. i KNOW THIS IS HARD TO TAKE BUT I SERIOUSLY HAD SOME TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING ALL THAT SHOUTING AND AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU EXPECTED? PERHAPS THEY WILL GIVE YOU AN ALTERNATIVE PHONE ON THE PROCESSED CONTRACT???!?!!?

OP makes a contract boo boo then comes to the forums to start whining... should have been the other way around. Come to the forum and get advice then go out there to make an informed choice. I would not get a windows phone would gladly take an apple instead.
I think you're all missing the point here.
Yes, maybe she should have researched more first but...

She was told it supported whatsapp.
She returned the phone and cancelled the contract
They are still charging her despite having taken the phone back and cancelling the contract!!

You could try ask VodacomData if he could assist you...

P.S. It's acceptable to shout when you are PISSED OFF

Engadget said:
Windows Phone users worried that Whatsapp's devs might be enjoying their Facebook money too much to fix the app can now rest easy. Whatsapp is now back on the Windows Phone Store after a couple of weeks' absence, and it even comes with new features, including chat backgrounds, better privacy settings and the ability to customize notification tones. Its devs pulled the app from the store after a lot of users reported having serious issues with update 3 for Windows Phone 8 that permanently disabled notifications or caused persistent errors. Just as Microsoft's Windows Phone guy Joe Belfiore promised on Twitter, though, Whatsapp's back and ready for more cross-platform messaging.

Here's some advice. Find that caps lock thingy on your keyboard, press it once (with your left or right finger, doesn't matter) and then edit and retype your post. If your lettering looks like this ie. small caps, you're halfway there. Good Luck.:whistling:

OP needs brain reformat. If that doesn't work, RTM. Does not support common sense. Also, initiative spigot is missing.

Meantime, Windows Phone happily runs WhatsApp.
