I have a TrendNet TEW-658BRM ADSL router and a TP-Link Archer VR900 VDSL router.
The TrendNet router syncs about 2Mb/s faster than the TP-Link one, but the latter has much newer technology, and also has dual-band wifi, which I would prefer to use.
Using the TrendNet router with a Vox ISP account, WhatsApp is extremely slow and doesn't want to download or upload any pics or videos. The message itself comes through without fail though.
If I change the ISP account to Afrihost everything works perfectly.
The TP-link router has none of the issues, and am working just fine with both ISP accounts, although the sync speed is lower, as stated above.
Any ideas what could be causing WhatsApp to be upset when using the TrendNet router and Vox network?
