This is a thread about how the new and improved gets upstaged by the old and classical. For me the greatest example of this is in F1. How could they get it so wrong?

er, that's in-game footage .... ?
Yes it is, but sim racing in-game footage. I also drive the Renault Alpine in Dirt Rally. It is from sim racing (virtual reality) where I learnt how superior the old cars are. Maybe not for speed and safety - this is more just about what makes me passionate about cars. The 2 cars above are probably my favourire cars ever. They can keep all their new facny k@k.

PS: Its so cool that you had to ask...

Different criteria.

Then it was, "go fast, win races".

Then they added that pesky "don't die" aspect to it and shook the whole thing up.

They took the don`t die aspect too far. They completely butchered all that is cool so I don`t watch F1 anymore. Give me a retro formula with basically the same design as the old cars (no wings) and improved modern safety.

Come back next year when the new regulations take effect. Should make a decent change to current racing.
