It is a misconception that residential evictions were not permitted during the higher levels of the lockdown.

Eviction orders were being granted from level four of the lockdown, provided that it was just and equitable for such orders to be granted. I obtained (and continue to obtain) eviction orders for a number of landlords during the lockdown (I am an attorney, specializing in property law).

I agree with what others have said in the thread, you should launch an eviction application as soon as possible.

You should also consider issuing a summons against the tenant for the arrear rental and associated charges owing to you.

That is dirt cheap!!! Also everyone is back at work and things are as normal as it is going to get. You are being fleeced and used by your tenant. Rather hire a property rental agent to do background checks and collect rental payment according to the market rate. I paid my agent 10% of rent and she was worth every cent.
Agree ....and great advice btw, thank you!!

Yes.

I sent an estate agent round to chat to him, but they didnt let her onto the property.
I also cant raise them on the phone any longer.
It really depresses me how low-life and sh!tty some humans are. This is revolting, and you've totally been taken advantage of. My motto in life: people will treat you how you let them. You've been taken for a ride. I hope you manage to get them off the property with it still intact. Such scums will cause malicious damage normally on the way out, since their 'entitlement' has been stripped from them.

Rent is hard out there, i'm helping 2 people pay their rent cause their jobs just can't cover it. Both have jobs but medical bills and increase in prices seem to have nailed them.

Have a friend who had similar issue. Tenants didn't pay and refused to leave.

Eventually She conceived a plan. She tells them, fine, it is ok, you can stay, but make some space in the house because she's arranged for several Nigerians to move in to cover costs.

They evacuated soon thereafter.
