So I am not a petrol-head. I've only owned two cars in the last 18 years, one of which is my 2006 Open Corsa Sport 1.4 Utility, bought new.

As I've had it for almost 10 years, it's age shows: my wife had some foreign gentleman do a "scrape and run" on the right side door and rear panel, there are two rust spots on the roof where the gutter does not drain well, and my ****ing dog used to climb on top so the bonnet and roof are scratched. Oh, and she ate the aerial. And the normal usage stuff.

So its a well used car*. I've got full service history though, initially with the dealers, then when the service plan ran out with a german specialist. It's got a canopy and a tow bar. It goes well, and while some ******* in a truck did once reverse into the front, damaging the radiator and knocking the alignment, it has not had any serious accidents. (Fixed by dealership)

My first car I sold to my ex's mother. This time I'd prefer to sell to a complete stranger for reasons closely related to that deal.

I'm in Cape Town. What do I do to sell a less-than-perfect car with the best profit to hassle ratio without getting scammed (ie, i'm probably not going to do a self-sale).

I see comparitive age/mileage Corsa Sport 1.4s for everything from 50 to 70 grand online but they are are all in "good condition" - I don't think mine can compare.

Thanks.

* "car" because that little utility doesn't really deserve the title "bakkie"
