I am looking for a Cisco SMB SRW2048-EU. I think it may be branded as a linksys - Its a 48 port gigabit swith which is web managed.

Anyone have any idea where I can get one in the Durban area.

Thanks

I have a quote for about R8K but they can only get it to me by the end of June. Was hoping to get a gigabit switch with hopefully a managed interface. It was probably the best switch in that price range that I could get.

I am open to suggestions though as I am a not really a network person. I can put a network together as I understand the basics but am not that knowledgeable on the detail.

I was told to always go for Cisco if we can and at 8K we though it was reasonable to have a managed 48 port gigabit switch.

Would you recommend something else cheaper or in that price range that would give the same functionality?

At some point I think the "port replication" or is it "port duplication" feature will be quite useful though.

what functionality do you require exactly, port mirroring will be pretty standard on any "managed" switch,....
are u sure on that price though? I am sure its not a cisco branded device, not for 48 ports all gig?

I dunno what your exact requirements are but you are going to pay through your starfish for Cisco while you could be just as well off with a different brand.

Edit: A HP Procurve 2510-48 (J9020A) will set you back about R5800 or less, http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06b/12883-12883-3445275-427605-427605-3356807-3658863.html
