iTunes nor my computer can read my iPod. I tried formatting and error searching. Keep getting "Not Responding". Nothing worked. No warranty on it, where can i send it off too? And how much will it cost?

Heh, webdesign is NOT their forté but I've taken Psion PDAs (mine and a client's), UPS' and maybe something else that I can't recall atm: they're legit, just have a crap site that's been like that for as long as I can remember.

I had a similar problem with my Ipod nano three days ago. I fixed it by doing the following:

a) reset the ipod(toggle hold swithc on and off and then press and hold menu and ok key until it was reset
b) if windows sees the hard disk,m format it
c) Itunes then saw my ipod and then I did a restore in itunes
d) Itunes then resynced with my selected playlist

Read up.... I tried all of them, nothing helped

bdt: are they cheap?
I don't recall them being expensive & last time I took a pair of UPSs in for repair it came to a few hundred, IIRC ...still, it comes down to what it's worth to you.

If you can get to Clearwater mall, they have an Apple iStore, they can fix it :)

I know someone who works there, and he mentions that they do fix iPods and whatnot...

When ever it is under warranty its a straight out swop with another refurbished device - do they actually attempt to fix it when it is outside of warranty.

as an experiment (may not work but worked for me)

plug your ipod in before you turn your computer on. I had a problem where it would no longer be seen and for some reason when i did that it was seen.

Then use iTunes to see if there is a new firmware update - if iTunes still battles to see your ipod then there is a tool on Apple (use google) that will re firmware your ipod.

Then rather format using iTunes and NOT windows ( i read on thenet in variuos areas that it is not a wise idea to format that way)

You havent by any chance used 3rd party software on your ipod lately have you?
