If it works out to more than 1.5k you can always get a xkey and totally bypass the drive.

Wish I could help, unfortunately I am in JHB, and I dont really trust shipping xbox drives there pretty fragile :/

You realize you just cant swap the drives and it will work. You need to get the key from the old drive and inject it into the new drive. Depending on which model you have it might be very easy to damn difficult to do.

What model no drive do you have?

I normally get my liteons from overseas - you wait, but it works out cheaper.

In any case, I think my laser has just weakened....tried pot tweaking it but that doesn't help either. So I could just replace the laser right?the whole rom on its own works except the reading of discs
