Hi guys,

I need to buy a new mac. Where would you recommend to buy one. I've always bought from Incredible and liked the support and no hassle with returning stuff at Incredible.

On the contrary, I never really liked the "vibe" in the iStores. Trying to be way too trendy without knowing a single thing about macs.

Are there any disadvantages when buying from Incredible as apposed to iStore?

If you're comfortable with buying from Incredible Connection and the price is right then go ahead and buy from them. There is no disadvantage compared to buying from an iStore.

I dont think your could rely on advice from the staff at either store though so do your homework and know what you are buying before you walk through the doors!

Well, my concern is more with possible hardware issues in the future. Doesn't seem like iStore is always too good at honouring warranties etc, and I've heard they charge a pretty penny even for warranty issues - whereas I know Incredible is rather good in the service department.

I just want to buy from the store that will look after me best.

I prefer Digicape myself.
Service is way better than the iStore.

No idea how IC's Mac service is, but like them as much as HiFi Corp.
Their staff are mostly halfwits.

I've bought from iStore and Digicape and the latter are my preference. Digicape's staff is more knowledgeable and seem more enthusiastic.

Another vote for Digicape. I bought my iMac at the one in Roeland str. Wanted extra memory etc, only waited like 10min while they installed everything and tested it. Also has great service since.

If you are gonna get the new iMac, apparently the wireless keyboard was not included in the box. When they give you a wireless keyboard, make sure it is the new model (takes 2 batteries and not 3). Model number is MC184 and NOT MB167Z.
