Hello Scotty

Sorry for the long delay, was out.

Yes the GFX card is R3.6K but you should rather mail the company itself as I am not sure how much shipping is etc...
seth@flytek.co.za

What I do know about the cards though is that I took SA 3DM2K1+3DM03 records with these. Got 2nd in 05 and third in 06! (got number one using another brand...)

well i did read up that the card is a beast which would eat any thing in its price range and the some... thing im worried about is that it may not be worth buying because of all this shyt with directx10 and sm4.0. i had a HIS x1600pro iceQ but the thing just frizzeled out... so sould i get a new card now or sould i spend a little on repairs?

You're not likley to be able to repair a GFX card anywhere in SA. Esp if the broken part is in the silicon you may as well thrwo it away.

FT7900GT is great, but you could also wait to see what next generation brings. It's up to you really. :)

ya i think i'll just wait for the next gen cards but i don't know when they are coming out... i have a x1300 some where. im going to pretty much wait to make a major upgrade from ddr to ddr2 (this will include nw conroe cpu etc.) so i think thats when i'll make my move into the whole 'next gen' thing.

Yeah you can't go wrong that way or at least yoiu're unlikely to. In the mean time just save some more cash and when next gen cards come you can swop out cooler for Zalman Fatality or some other good aftermarket cooler as these next parts are going to be hotter than the current ones.
(AT least for GF8 which is still 90nm.
