I've answered francdore by PM already but it will be good to put a similar reply here for all to see.
Service from Paul and the guys at Lensrental was exeptional. Pleasure doing business with them. No hassles at all and very friendly throughout the whole process. They were also very lenient regarding pick-up and drop-off times. Unlike other places that might charge you for a second day if you are 5minutes late. They are situated at a shopping centre in Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort. The Kodak shop next to the Spar.
I did everything via email and telephone with Paul from Lensrental and got my brother to pick it up the Friday night before I needed the lens. Then I returned it myself at 11h00 the Sunday morning.
Hired a 200-400mm / f4.0 Nikon lens after recommendations from Bwana and other forumites.
What a beauty of a lens. Sharpness, speed of focus and image quality is behond anything I've ever handled. I also used it with my D3100 and that was the only disappointing part for me. Next time I will spend a bit extra and also rent a decent body along with the lens. I really got frustrated with the capabilities of my camera. Especially shutter speed, ISO limits and most of all the FPS being limited to 3.
Francdore's case might be different as I'm assuming most of his shots will be in broad daylight whereas I had to shoot under the spolights at Loftus Versfeld. And that is were my bodies limitations really came to light (Pun intended)
With Lensrental.co.za you can't go wrong. Paul actually chucked in a 1.4x teleconverter free of charge for me. Sure he will do the same for anybody else. That should come in very handy at the airshow.
Word of advice. Book the lens well in advance if you decide to get it. The 200-400mm is one of the most popular Nikon lenses on the market I was told by everybody, and now I know why.
Also get a monopod/tripod or something. It will get heavy after a few minutes of carrying around. My one arm was stiff the next day. Beginner.... Pfft...!
