year model? Heard there motors arent doing too well.
It is the same 74kw 1.4 as you get in the Essentia and apart from a coilpack replacement at 30,000km (under warranty) my 2010 model is still going strong. The quality of these cars are a massive improvement over the B (lite) and C ones that came before. For R100k you are looking at a 2010 with about 80,000km on the clock. I would go for the more practical 5 door Essentia, but if you prefer the 3-door Sport then go test drive one and see for yourself.

interesting :)

I am not very keen myself for an 1.4L motor. but worth a test drive i guess.

My Corsa gets very little mileage on it lately, currently is it sitting on 45,000km because since I started cycling to work in 2011 I only fill it up about once a month. Yes, it is only a 1.4 but it develops 74kw, which is only 3kw less than a 1.6 Polo for example.

The newish Astra is excellent, very quick especially when you have it in sport mode. Then again I am a n00b that only recently got 100+ kw under my foot so not everyone will be blown away by it. If you can find one with low mileage I can highly recommend it.

Look I'm definately open to test driving it and see how it is. I don't like the practicality of a 3-door so will definatley look at the 5 door rather. Will test drive and see which one I feel comfortable in

So I've been actively looking this last couple of weeks for a Honda Civic 1.8 vxi in my budget of R120 000 with less than 100 000km on but could not find any.

Looked at my 2nd choice Toyota Auris 1.8RX but could not find any. Also looked at the focus but could not find any

Anyone know of any decent deals going around on a Honda Civic??????? (Must be a hatchback)

I have found quite a few decent 1.6 Ford Fiesta as astroboi has mentioned in this thread which is in my budget with less than 100 000km on but its not realllly tickling my fancy. Should I just go for the fiesta since I'm looking to keep the car for about 3 years or wait a couple weeks. How is the 1.6? Do they have decent power. I see these 1.6 are 88kw

I need to make a decision by next weekend for the latest.

If you want a car with less than 100,000km on the clock for that kind of money perhaps go take an Astra H for a test drive? I bought one in December and they are very underrated cars with exceptional value for money, I paid R100k for a car with 60,000km on. A quick search on Autotrader found this 2009 2.0 Turbo Sport with about 100,000km on the clock.

What about an i20 1.6?

Has about 90kw of power should do the job.

I'll test drive one over the weekend and decide. I'm not a big fan of the shape of the car but maybe I'll "feel" better in one.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will have a look and test drive over the weekend if it's still available. It seems like a decent deal

Which car did he choose?

How is the honda?

Was originally planning to buy a car in January but decided against it as I would not have necessary needed a car at that specific point in time therefore the delay till now.

I'm still looking around for the Honda as I REALLlY want it. I've got until next week to find a decent one.

The problem is that I'm a picky person (As my friends would say a Picky P#!@ Lol) I guess I must not think too hard about it and be more open-minded.

Will test drive a couple of cars this weekend though and make up my mind early next week.
