Hi there

My little bro is interested in getting iBurst, but he wants to know what sort of games can he play multiplayer on an iBurst link...

He would like to kno which games will work, and which won't so that he can decide whether to go for iBurst, or suck up to Hellskommels.

I can't help him, as I'm not playing games that much - that, and an ancient, outdated 850MHz Celeron with no hellskommels or iBurst link...

Regards

Libs

With my experience with Iburst, gaming is not so good since I like all 1st person shooters like counter strike/HL2/Quake 4 etc, they will run, just not well...There are 2 games I found which ran perfect though Warcraft 3 & Trackmania Nations + Tm Nations ran perfect when I was capped so I would recommend that if its for gaming, adsl is the better option.

I play Warcraft 3 on USEast. Get 450-800ms lag. Playable but not great.

Guild Wars works like a charm. Smooooooth. beware... it's addictive ;)

Sometimes I even manage to play Battlefield 2 on the SAIX servers but there is definite lag, but playable (sort-of)

I play "The Ship" which is a FPS Steam game, but the range of servers isn't really worthwhile, and the playability isn't good because connecting to international servers for a FPS just won't work well enough with IBurst

I use a directional antenna to boost my signal. I am in the weakest signal area possible in my area.

Anyone using the new Omni antennas for games?

Just to give you an idea :-)

Basically Guildwars and Warcraft 3 (aka DOTA) wil work fine.

Anythign else will probably be a bit too laggy, but could work fine depending on your signal. Where about are you? How far is the closeest tower?

i play css on my iburst connection, i get a ping of 70-110...depends how full server is. it is decent. im top 30 so iburst ftw

Ja, i also see great pings to the CSS local servers. But you can still get ugly spikes if you dont have a really good connection.

SOF2.. hmm, does that have a local server or do you actualyl get 250ms international.. okay no way thats international.
Basically anything is playable i geuss as long as its locally hosted, andinternational RPG's can be okay.
But still depends on signal strength.

210-300 - international - ~25-30% of the servers. Other up to 500

I've played UT2k4 on local servers and it's been consistent and smooth with a jerk now and then

Guild wars plays perfectly

Well...I got myself Guild Wars Faction and this game is working absolutely great on a capped Iburst connection! But, It's lonely in the dark cold world, are there no other people that has this game? Maybe we can start something like a Burst Guild!

lol, how many people do you need for a Guild?

I might start playing, but do you HAVE to have an original? No cracks or crack servers?

btw, you can just join one of the SA guilds, they started a big one the other day, its on these forums.

I play Auto Assault with iBust, but get kicked off after about 3 hours...

Dunno what pings I get, but I have an excellent signal with an external antenna...

I'd love to know if anybody else plays, I am level 11 terminator...

Well, i was online with my 56k modem last night, and i thought i would give HL2 deathmatch a go. I tried it, and to my amazement, it ran pretty well...

It was a bit laggy, but playable.

My latency was only 150.... :)

But when my friend with iBurst tried, he couldn't play, there was too much latency, and he wasn't capped.

Doesn't make sense

I tried HL2 a while ago with my iBust and it too was VERY laggy!

That was the first and last time... CSS was the same!
I think the use a kind of P2P for their systems, not sure...
