Do you have a phone that you can get true caller on then you can block all those numbers that keep calling you.
Bad advice. As Dairyfarmer says ...
If you want to block callers lease do not install TrueCaller until you have read the terms of use. Basically you are sharing your contacts with them so that they can link names, email address etc to a telephone number without that person's permission. This info is then made available to anyone with internet connection.
Using totally disposable junk details, I did experiments. I was surprised at the info I could glean from TrueCaller that should not be public. Let just stick to saying "All that glitters is not gold".
Just register yourself on the dma do not contact list. I barely get spam calls anymore.
I had one email address, now abandoned, that was on the DMA's list. Ironically I saw much spam on it due to "founding DMA members", abusing Browns etc and continuously "making processing mistakes". When I took on one of the senior members, they were not willing to discuss "the ethics of spamming". And every time I contacted the DMA about these issues with evidence, the silence was overwhelming. I have pointed this out many times. If untrue it would be libel. Maak wolf skaapwagter? Sure.
Android got this block number feature, and on Mybb is threads about how to handle your 3 calls every day. I am with MTN, and just after the upgrade got lots of people phoning me.
Interesting observation: I ported one number to another provider, also took out a new number at the same time. The two were no even remotely close. Within 24 hrs and with minutes of one another, I had received same lotto scam SMS on both, requesting me to call a number widely found to be used in all types of online scams.
Bottom line: You are safe nowhere. Your personal info has monetary value and is a commodity traded, not even at the cellular providers. The cellular providers are not immune. My personal answer has evolved to taking it to spammers in a rabid way. There is a reason I walked into Vodaworld HQ with a cease and desist that somebody signed for on behalf of their director. Until we have full POPIA (which works), we are buggered.
