Hi,

Which one, should I go for (seems to be my price range):

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual Sim
Huawei P8 Lite Dual SIM

I really Like the Sony, but some reviews point out that it overheats and people regret buying it. (But I know Sony keep doing software updates of the OS)

I am not sure about Huawei, and if you buy it, that's it, no future OS updates or software updates. (like my Lenovo tablet, its stuck on, I thinks its, Honeycomb)

In this price range, I am looking for speed and latest (or nearly) Android OS (not like 2 generations behind)

Thanks.

I find the P8 Lite to be a very good quality phone, but I'm pretty sure support is better on the Sony devices... and OS better handling... I'd go with the P8 Lite, largely due to the fact that I use a phone to make calls, send IMs & waste time on FB... The rest a phone can do are just extras... And I'm pretty sure the Huawei would be cheaper. That being said, if you can get them at the same price, the Xperia is the higher quality phone to go for...

Thanks. Here are the prices.

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual Sim: R4685
Huawei P8 Lite Dual SIM:R4070

On GSMArena, this Sony model is not well received (in Opinions section"). My gut says rather stay away from Sony.

Used both very briefly. The Sony just felt ..urff to use, nothing special of note aside from being slim.

On the P8Lite though, phone is a very good thing, doesn't get hot, responds instantly, looks (imo) much better than the sony and comes with a better broken screen warranty as a bonus. the missing appdrawer can be fixed by downloading nova launcher(free or paid) on the Huawei

Coming off a Samsung s4 mini dual sim, is there any other decent dual sims that don't share the 2nd sim slot with the sd card? Apart from that, and forgetting the coming p9 lite, is the p8 lite still the best dual sim to go for? Haven't been following the software update issues around this brand lately....

Have you checked out the Sony M5 Dual sim? I'm also looking for a new dual-sim (with dedicated slot), came across it a few weeks ago and the specs look good, that being said, havent had a chance to see the phone in front of me to make a more informed decision...

STAY AWAY FROM THE M5

I'm on my third one, I hate it. First one would shut down randomly and can only be rebooted if plugged it. Second one the camera did not work, the 3rd one don't like certain apps and would break the wifi connection. Stay far away. I will never pick a Sony phone again.

I'm a very happy P8 lite user. I moved from an S3 mini, and haven't had any issues. My biggest concerns are the unibody design, making it easier to break, and lack of removable battery.

Sony phones are hit and miss. Support is minimal and the OS is bloated which eats away available RAM and don't get started on build quality and lack of local agents in every province unlike Huawei and Samsung.

Totally agree... I loved my first Z3c, hated my second one. I'm done with Sony now :)

P8 Lite is R3800 at Takealot Daily Deals. P9 Lite was officially launched in Germany on Saturday.

Umm, most launchers have this feature. Nothing to do with the hardware.
