Haven't had the Nokia but
D900i i found was a fine ph except the U700 supports HSDPA.
900i only does up to Edge speed.
Apart from that i was happier on the 900i as the U700 has annoying soft keys that are still annoying 2 month's later
Looks like a similar deal with the Nokia supporting faster connection over the 900.
The Nokia being an OS ph has to give it the edge tho surely.

The D900i is EDGE only, has a really poor menu and you only have a choice of four tones for message alert. The D900i also uses a flex cable to join the back of the phone to the front and these are almost programmed to fail one day after the guarantee runs out!

The N73 is 3G, has a better feel, allows all sorts of themes to be loaded to brighten up your display. The camera is also slightly better than the D900i. On the down side, the keypad is slightly small...

N73 no contest to me!

I have been told by quite a few people not to go for nokia as it is a Cr@p phone from their experience. I was also told by the mtn and vodacom shops they arent good either but just wanted ur guys opinion as well. I have never used a sony errikson b4 now and wont even touch a motorola

N73 is def better than the D900, used both and N73 owns the D900 in every aspect imo, & from my experience with samsung sliding phones is that they always break in time. N73 is def the way to go for better music/photos/video/anything really :)

Saffer if you want a phone to last you two years get the Nokia, Samsung never last that long, My missus had one and it last only one year and Samsung would not fix it nor replace it. She had a loan phone for the rest of the second year.

A buddy at work had the D900i for 2 months and the LCD burnt, Samsung and Voda would not repair it, they say it's his fault. He had it repaired and it cost him R650 and he sold it the very next day.I heard too many bad stories about Samsung phones.

Hey guys. I just read a mobile phone review for N73 and the D900i. Seems there are far more negative reviews for the Nokia and far more positive reviews for samsung so I guess u will know which one I am going for. Thanks for your advise

Nokia N73

Symbian OS 9.1, S60 3rd edition

3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, video(CIF), flash; secondary VGA video call camera

Standard battery, Li-Ion 1100 mAh (BP-6M )
Stand-by Up to 350 h
Talk time Up to 6 hp

3G Yes, 384 kbps

That solves it for me. You'd be <insert adjective> not to get the Nokia. The N73 is better in every feature. As for the "slider" of the D900i, it's just waiting to be broken.

GSM Arena comparison between Nokia 73 and Samsung D900i.
