Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new PC monitor for gaming (24" or above). I've been looking around the interwebs for reviews, but no one in particular stands out as the one to get. It either is too reflective, low response time or some other unwanted characteristic. Which do you recommend?

I use a Samsung Syncmaster 24" at home and a LG Flatron 24" at work.
Not having played games on the LG I am very happy with the Samsung.
But I have been told the LG is more suited to line work & cad which is what I do at work.

You need to mention your budget as that will ultimately decide what monitor suits you.

I was also in the market for a screen not too long ago. I eventually ended up buying the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M on special from wootware and have found it to be great, would definitely recommend. My experience with screens is very limited though so I can't really benchmark it against anything else. That's what google is for ;)
Edit: I see they are selling it for R3550 http://www.wootware.co.za/dell-ultra-sharp-series-u2412m-24-full-hd-led-monitor.html

I should also mention that this screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio which requires a bit of getting used to. But once you are used to it, the extra vertical real-estate is great.

So tempting! Wish it had HMDI though.

Now I'm thinking about the Asus VG248QE. A little over budget, but it's sexy!

Go get a 32" 1080p 60fps LCD TV.

Visit your local Diowired / hificorp and see what stock they want to get rid of. Got my 32" about 2 years ago for R2k. They tend to want to get rid of last year's models for cost price. They display the same image, but tend to be fatter at the back. Not a problem when used as a PC screen though :)
