Ugh, I'm about to be retrenched and looking around for the best prepaid or contract option. Preferably prepaid as my next job might just might include such a benefit. I looked at a myriad of prepaid options out there and my mind boggles. Now I'm stuck. Can anyone advice me on where to go? Just not cell c, their networks is pretty kak and I know from experience.

On the prepaid - Each provider has some sort of package that includes free (limited or unlimited) data for social media etc. Not that dissimilar if you compare like for like.

Your first step would be to check your home (and business) area for good network coverage.
Telkom Free me options (with huawei dual sim phones) work well for unlimited telkom to telkom (incl mobile) calls

There are lots of options, you need to be a bit more specific on what you want. Data package, calling, etc

Thanks guys. Luckily where I live I have great MTN and VC reception. I also have fibre. Ugh, there are so many things that I must look at!

I found the perfect solution, I've got a dual SIM and one MTN contract. I also have fibre at home so I use about 2 gigs a month mobile data. After some research I found out that with MTN sells a 1000 voicemail bundle for only R150. Then if I get a Rain data SIM it is only 50 Rand for 1 gig of data. So for about R200 pm I thinks it's a really good combination.

The only drawback is that rain is only available in cities. So if I travel away from home I'll have to spend quite a bit on MTN prepaid data.
