In Glen Anil and as far as I can figure I'm getting the signal from the Alverston Tower. I just use an Ellies indoor combo indoor antenna that I bought from Game for about R200, I think.
I have three DTT decoders that I've picked up over the last coupla years- an Airis from Tesco in the UK and Philips from a supermarket in Rotterdam (both work fine in all European countries as well as Mauritius and Morocco). As I mentioned these receive the SABC/Mnet signals/EPG but no sound or picture. I have a Walmart US type but that receives Nada here - not that I've tried very hard.
My Pinnacle software on the computers at home and at sea that I use for the HDTV stick had to be H264 enabled after the one month trial period expired. I seem to recall that the key from Pinnacle cost about $5.
So yes, I guess if you can get the signal from the receiver to your computer and somehow figure a way to sort out the H264 codec, you should be ok.
Will be leaving for the US in the morning(16th) so will be off this forum until just b4 Christmas.
