Hi

I want to start using a VPS but I have NO Linux experience, but am willing to learn.

I want to implement the vps in two steps.

At first I want to browse the web and the as a second step I would like to Install Meta Trader 4, a Windows program.

I have found a provider where I can choose between the following Ubuntu versions.

Ubuntu 7 Minimal
Ubuntu 8.04 Minimal
Ubuntu 8.10 Lamp
Ubuntu 8.10 Minimal
Ubuntu 9.04 Lamp
Ubuntu 9.04 Minimal

Can you recommend which version I must choose.

Thanks

Why would you want to use a Linux VPS when you want to run a windows program?
Also remember that the latency to VPS's based outside of RSA is so high that remote desktop is _almost_ unusable...

Price would be one factor. I can get a basic Ubuntu VPS package for $8, while the cheapest Windows VPS I could find starts at $40.00.

Hmmm, you want to try running a windows program on Ubuntu? Is there a debian package for it? Run 9.04 basic.
