Which UHD TV to buy (Samsung 50" - 50MU7000)

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a new TV, preferably an Samsung UHD 50" / 55". I currently own a 40" FHD Samsung 5 series. I recently bought the Samsung 55" - 55MU7000 (see link below *1) from Game on special and had to exchange it three times due to edge bleeding. It was really bad, see photos below. I highly recommend everyone to stay far away from this 55" model. I found some reviews on Takealot where other people also complained about this. Now I am back to no new TV. I am currently looking at the Samsung 50" - 50MU7000 from Dion Wired (see link below *2) as it is on special. Has anyone bought this screen and edge bleeding issues? I don't want to spend more than R10 000. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

That's a VA panel for you and they are worse on the cheaper TV's.

Which part of the country are you from?
Hirsch's is having an end of range sale this weekend.

I see the SAMSUNG 75 INCH 4K SMART UHD TV UA75MU700 went on "special" for 30k at Makro, no idea if it's a good deal though.

Samsungs new range of TV will be released soon so you will see the 2017 range going on special all the time.
The Q7 55" QLED has already been listed under R20k on Takealot and other sites over the past two weeks

QLED is rubbish, old tech.

I have the Hisense 55M7000 and it is perfect. My Xbox One X looks amazing on it.
