Or people being scared of the EFF?
Or, and this is a crazy thought but bear with me, we keep on complaining how unfair BEE is and voted for the party that agrees with our views.

They also want to make it illegal to protest near schools, pay teachers more and lower income tax which sounds pretty ****ing awesome to be honest.

I actually think they are the only party with a reasonable economic plan to turn the country around, I just can't get past their Afrikaans nationalism, which despite their 'we are for minorities' platform, does not really include anyone but a small Afrikaans minority. Plus there is their history, which is rather steeped in all sorts of unpleasantness from the past.
Please add examples of unpleasantness. just cause my view tells me it's mostly propaganda, but also because I am curious.

In short Gen. Constand Viljoen and a few other hardline architects of Apartheid formed the Afrikaner Volksfront to disrupt the 1994 elections, and to try to get an Afrikaans Volkstaat established with the option to secede from South Africa. When this failed Viljoen split and formed the Vryheid's Front which later became VF+ which is an amalgamation of:
  • Freedom Front
  • Conservative Party (in 2003)
  • Afrikaaner Eenheidsbeweging (in 2003)
  • Federal Alliance (in 2006)

etc etc etc -- you don't just shake that history because you got a new name and logo.

White anxiety hmm.

White, Black, Indian, Colored it does not matter. All of us are anxious at the state of SA and of the incessant looting and corruption. Instability in any country causes the entire population to become anxious. If they don't it's probably because the government has managed to brainwash them so far beyond seeing reality anymore.

Skimming through the FF+ manifesto, I agree with a lot of it:

https://www.politicsweb.co.za/documents/the-ff-plus-2019-manifesto

Summary of solutions

The FF Plus's Election Manifesto and its Policy Framework propose the following solutions for South Africa's most pressing problems:

1. Abolish race-based Affirmative Action and Black Economic Empowerment; use socio- economic conditions as criteria for empowerment and promote equal opportunities for all.

2. Exercise the internationally recognised constitutional right to self-determination.

3. Establish community councils.

4. Establish a smaller local government system with more locally-focused functioning.

5. Afford provinces more autonomy.

6. Cut state expenditure; privatise state-owned entities; increase state revenue by stimulating growth; offer tax relief; establish a fiscal commission.

7. Develop independent, local economies where poverty serves as the criterion for empowerment and growth and development are seen as the only sustainable methods of empowerment; establish special economic zones.

8. Address the shortcomings of the criminal justice system to bring endemic rape to an end.

9. Amend restrictive labour legislation so as to promote job creation while still maintaining fair labour practices; create a favourable environment for the private sector to create more jobs; put an end to the unsustainable practice of the government creating jobs.

10. A high standard of education where mother-tongue education is accessible to all; mother- tongue education must be parent and community driven and must be offered on the highest possible level.

11. Promote language rights and multilingualism.

12. Tariff protection, research, disaster relief and the creation of infrastructure must benefit subsistence and commercial farmers.

13. Protect private property rights.

14. Quality health care where expertise rather than transformation is prioritised; stop the over-regulation of medical aid schemes; upgrade public health care infrastructure; establish cooperation between the public and private health care sectors.

15. Build foreign relations on mutual respect and give preference to countries with which South Africa already has or can establish strong trade ties.

16. Effective border control that restores the integrity of our country's borders and that brings the movement of illegals goods, like firearms and drugs, across our borders as well as illegal immigration to an end.

17. The country must move away from utilising energy sources that are destructive to the environment; prioritise renewable energy; tax discounts for individuals and businesses that make use of alternative energy sources.

It's not all bad. From your own link:

He [Constant Viljoen] is partly credited with preventing the outbreak of armed violence by disaffected white South Africans prior to post-apartheidgeneral elections.
The only (relevant) party without a past is the DA. But they don't have any direction, leadership or a future so they don't count :whistling:

And the full version is even more agreeable - they just need to completely distance themselves from the Afrikaans Volkstaat rubbish which creeps in with 'self-determination' and other similar phrases. Self-determination, no matter who is saying it, is always code for 'we want to run things by ourselves, for us and our special group, and no-one else'.

Estate agent in our area says people are leaving "in the hundreds. Leaving their parents, selling everything and going".
I have run into people working at the US Embassy. They say they have queues almost every day now for months. My last set of long term friends are leaving in two weeks for the US.

Pretty sad. It has become a self fulfilling prophecy at this point

I've read the manifestos of nearly all the parties (those that have one anyway).
I would expect you to. I think they are economically illiterate, and looking for some sort of utopia (as with all far left organisations). The most recent manifesto is extremely toned down from the last one however.

'White anxiety', do these people think other races don't see the shitstorm coming when they look at the rising unemployment rate?

Voting for the ANC is clearly not working.
