So they scared the guy into having a heart attack, and then impound his car just to make sure the guy gets the message. Nice. Oh well, moving along.

"To claim back his car, the man will have to furnish relevant vehicle clearance certification and pay the storage fee and the car would be released."

Mokheseng said four other cars were impounded during the road block as drivers did not have correct documentation.

I don't get that part. Did he not have the registration of vehicle on it? what other docs do they need? Also if its impounded due to him collapsing cause they didn't believe him about his name, faking cardiac arrest or not why the heck would he need to pay when his stuff is in order?

Actually I'm thinking couldn't he charge them for theft seeing that everything legitimately checks out?

I have certified copies of the originals in my car....just in case. Never keep your original registration certificate in your car cause if someone steals it and they have your reg cert then they can claim ownership.

Come on the dude refuses to speak English or Afrikaans to the cops until they threaten to arrest him, he then pretends to have a heart attack for some unknown reason whilst admitting he changed his surname to try and fraudulently get BEE deals and you guys are moaning about the cops?

He's an idiot and I bet they impounded his car to try and teach him some sort of lesson. He deserved that.

You don't need to carry paperwork around either. However if requested you must be able to furnish it in a specified time limit.

He is a bit of a tool, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

It is almost as bad as all the non-white / non-South Africans that apply for BEE contracts or AA positions.

The law / policy is flawed ....... qudos for trying to make a living, but his road side antics made him an idiot.

I think many people would be wary of hiring a male Dlamini with a white skin - nothing personal or racial, but it just seems odd. Not that I think one should discriminate, but I just don't think it was very clever of him if he was just looking for work. I imagine the same confusion would be created when we have gay men married cross culturally.

I still dont get it, even if he did get past the prelim for a AA job, they would kinda realise at the interview, i mean, thats just stupid. Youre white, you have a fair complexion, get used to it.

This is probably a symptom of the times. Many black people during apartheid became "Peter", "John", "Moses" etc. Now that apartheid is with us again in the form of AA and BEE, should we be surprised that white people are adopting black names.
