No way all that holding is in the hands of a few thousand black employees. Share schemes count as a bonus and part of remuneration. Sasol is publicly traded every Unit trust, RA, pension fund, the Pic all have shares. There's enough black shareholders and everyone else that wants shares can just buy them.
Sasol fscked up the last BEE share program and this is just more of the same stupidity.

It’s actually shares in Sasol South Africa (South African subsidiary which is not listed) that are given to black employees.

The listed entity is Sasol holding company which owns Sasol SA + US + wherever else they operate.

Not to count the BEE points. To qualify as a black shareholder of Sasol SA, Sasol Holding would need a high BEE level which it doesn't have, it would actually be stupid.
