Who has the best Wifi Calling out of the Cell Operators?

I have been with MTN for many many years, but their signal in the area has been terrible for the last couple of years (along with all the other networks in my area).

It looks like I'll have to use Wi-Fi calling in order to operate. Unfortunately Wi-Fi calling does not seem to work on my MTN number, and have contacted them multiple times as I am sure it requires some kind of activation from their end - but they are beyond useless in assisting.
Does your phone register on VoLTE when you're in an area covered by LTE? Ask MTN to provision your SIM for Voice over LTE (and if they are not sure, spell out VoLTE). Once this is done, restart your phone.

Which ISP do you use at home?

You're joking, right? MTN's implementation of Wi-Fi Calling is beyond pathetic. Until recently iPhone wasn't even supported. Also see below.

@Rickster You're just lucky that you're using an ISP that has been whitelisted by MTN. Try having the local cell tower down at work during load shedding, then your sales team can't make or receive calls because MTN doesn't support Wi-Fi Calling on Seacom.
You prolly on a wifi that is on a firewall, you need to have it unlocked on the FW.

FWIW I have a Samsung S22 and a Telkom SIM card and Wifi calling works a treat for me at home.

Particularly useful during load-shedding when the cell signal goes to basically nothing.

My Device is using lte.vodacom.za, no problem using wifi calling. - using iPhone.
Perhaps you misunderstood my post.

I assume your device is your iPhone, or do you mean your device is a router with a Vodacom sim ? Are you also using a Vodacom SIM card in your router which your iPhone connects to ?

What I stated: when using the lte.vodacom.za APN in my router and then connecting my phone to said router WiFi-calling does not work.

If I change the APN on the router to "internet" WiFi-calling works.

In a new low of the rubbish that is MTN, I’m in the outskirts of Sandton with NO load shedding and I have full signal with an E connection. Edge… like it’s 1995.

Vodacom supports VoWiFi...but it will cling on to normal calling mode for dear life. With Vodacom best way is to activate airplane mode and then just toggle your WiFi back on. The VoWiFi icon should the appear.
My main sim used to be a telkom till I ported about 3 years back, always struggled getting volte to work, customer service failed till I gave up, my other voda SIM worked fine. So I read this thread today and tested the WiFi calling, it also didn't work on my main but the second did, only when I put it on flight mode as you suggested.

I rang up customer care, second lady was able to get VoLte working. It's now showing permanent WiFi calling on both lines. I am on Redmi Note 9t 5G and my router is a telkom mobile sim. I knew I needed to only tell them about volte instead of vowifi would solve it for me, I'm surprised it works without needing flight mode. I haven't rebooted it yet.
