There are p2p apps out there that aren't shapped.

Yes, but from what I've seen on these forums, they're only unshaped until iBurst figure out they exist.

IMHO, their call-centre has imporved somewhat.

I received a call from the wbs (****ers) this week to find out if i'm still having problems with my iburst. I cancelled my subsciption two months ago and I had the problem (which was never solved) in the last two weeks of my contract.
They must have improved their service if they finally made the call.

That will have no effect. You have to change the MTU on the network card that your modem is attached to.

I did. I am running iBust via the ethernet cable plugged into my card. So I changed the settngs on the card. It made no difference whatsoever.

Hahahaha. No they haven't. Their service is just as shoddy as when you had your problems. Obviously they are only getting around to your complaints from 2 months ago now.

I currently use a P2P that seems to be unshaped (60kb/s+ is possible!), but unfortuanetly all the major ones are totally shaped, and to find good stuff to download can be hard on small P2P servers, so it seems if youre really looking to download you need to get a wireless ISP that dont shape P2P or cap, apparently MyWireless dont do either but then thats a **** service and probably a lie, so the search goes on.

I must admit that lately Iburst has been a far more pleasant experience for me. Hope it continues. :D

Compared to the cussing going on in the ADSL forums (at SAIX & IS), iBurst has been pretty steady freddy lately ... except for those experiencing disconnects?

Umm... It will have exactly the effect needed esp in relation to disconnections as this is sort of the pppOE/dial up... setting the network card setting (although may work) is unnecessary.

The problem with changing your network card setting it that when you actually want to network with that card a higher mtu is better.

I want to reset the MTU settings on the network card as I am going back to using the USB cable for iBurst (need to net work with the other PC in the office again).

How do I change the settings back to the original settings? Am I correct in assuming I should have written the original settings down?

Strangely enough (as an aside), when I first installed iBurst on this PC every time it logged on it would make the PC hang for a few minutes. Itried a number of things, but waht seemed to work was deleting the Microsoft TCP/IP version 6.

I havent been all that happy lately with the browsing and download speeds in CPT, and especially with the Plumbstead tower disconnects over the last hour or so!
Is everyone affected? (On plumbstead tower)

I'm on the Plumstead tower and have had no disconnections this month except when I decided to disconnect to change the IP.

Looks like your problem must be something else besides the tower.

No, it was even on the WBS site, they had some power outage or something, it was only for an hour or so anyway, then back to normal
