Interesting Story Indeed! Question is ... with all your experience, why not come back to South Africa, form another party or take leadership of a current one, DA comes to mind and apply all your skills to making this country the kind of South Africa you would like to see!:)

Great question. Thanks for asking it.

My roots have grown deep into Canada now with kids and all. So I am unable to move back.

On the TV two nights ago, there was a travel documentary on Namibia and SA. When I saw it, I was really wanting to see it and live it all again. One never forgets their birthplace and sometimes you pine for it.

Can one person effect change. Yes they can. Look at William Wilberforce who used to be a hedonist when he was young. He saw the evils of slavery and started lobbying for the abolition of it. It took him 50 years to do it. Perhaps you can do that as well.

Make it your goal to single-handedly stop corruption in the ANC and never waiver from that goal. It may take you 50 years but nothing is impossible.

I own South Africa. If your interested in buying it, I'd be willing to let it go for about $200 Billion, which is a pretty good deal if you think about it.

If your interested, please pay the full amount(lump sum please) into my swiss bank account and and wait for me to reply via the Net(No phone calls). Oh, and I'd want 50% dividends on any mineral and/or property profits for the next 200 years. Paid monthly.

And a small piece of the moon for my trouble. That'd be sweet.
Any takers?

I'll swap you. I have Mars, a Saturn Moon (Iapetus), a piece of a Jacaranda that was struck by lightning, a piece of Great Barrier Reef Coral, a coke bottle from a few days ago with some flat coke, a ZX Spectrum, a dot matrix line printer and two *working* telkom lines. Oh yeah, I also have some crayons I didn't finish chewing when I was a kid.

Ah, I wish certain members of our population and government would believe this.

(haven't posted on this thread since, mainly 'cause all (my) posts are searing, heart wrenching personal stories...)

paraphrased-
"Hope is a reflection of fear. There is no need for hope unless we fear the future, and want to change it."
